CSBG
is the grant that keeps the Community Action Centers open.
WICAP operates the majority of its services from those centers.
We offer the following services to the low-income population in our communities:
Education
Emergency
Assistance
Employment
Health
Housing
Individual
Development Account
Money
Management
Move
The Mountain
Nutrition
Partnerships
Self-Sufficiency
Two new projects that we are involved with are:
Move the Mountain that will bring the community even closer to us.
We will be working with a few families to get them out of poverty.
In order to accomplish this we will need several community business and organizations to participate with the family.
It is very exciting to think about working together to better the lives of our low-income who want up and out.
The other project is the Individual Development Account in which families can build up their credit and accumulate money to buy a house, continue their education, or start up a small business.
Whatever they save will be matched until they have built up enough to reach their goal.
